Fruits and Plants

We often think of fruits and nuts as simply a form of food source and forget that they are the vehicles of propagation for the tree. The fruit and nuts of the tree are in fact its seeds and ovaries and the sex of the plant. Humans play a role in the life cycle and the continuing survival of certain plant species. Since the ancient times fruits such as apples, cherries, orange, figs, etc. have been popular among humans due to their specific qualities such as
smell, color, and taste. The notion of desire in association with exotic
foods/fruits and sexuality also has an extensive history. It is this relationship between people and plant forms, which launched me on my path of exploring the symbolisms of particular fruits and the development of my own garden.
